What is Tengrism?

Very few people know that the Turks and other people from the steppes of Eurasia had a different religion than currently. In fact, there is an entity which was referred to as “God of the Turks”: Tengri, the almighty ruler of the sky. But what are the main concepts of Tengrism? In this two-part series we take a look at the entities, the myths, legends and cosmology of Tengrism. In the second part, we go in depth with regards to certain beliefs of Tengrists, including the Tree of Life and the idea of the Afterlife.
