Lords of the Turkmen

Before the Ottomans and Safavids battled for control of Eastern Anatolia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Zagros Area and Mesopotamia, there had been two empires created and ruled by two mighty Turkish clans: the Ak Koyunlu and Kara Koyunlu. Having been in close contact to each other, these people were both relatives and political enemies.
